Profile

Thom Fougere Studio works within the fields of furniture, architecture, interiors, and creative direction. Based in Montréal, Canada.

Thom Fougere is a Canadian designer working across the fields of product design, architecture, interiors, furniture, and creative direction. He partners with brands and clients from around the world to develop distinctive designs that resonate through a tactile and sculptural presence. Through a hands-on process and close collaboration with craftspeople, his approach explores the utility of furnishings, objects, and their relationship to the spaces they occupy.

Thom began his career leading the design arm of an international furniture manufacturer, where he absorbed global influences while cultivating a style grounded in regional values. In 2010, he was appointed Creative Director of Canadian design house EQ3. Over the next nine years, he guided the design and creative direction of numerous collections for the Winnipeg-based company and led the brand through a transformative global repositioning, culminating in his design of EQ3’s New York City flagship building, completed in 2019.

In 2021, Thom established his eponymous studio in Montréal. His work has been exhibited internationally at design fairs in Milan, Stockholm, New York, Montréal, and Toronto, and featured in publications including Monocle, Dwell, Azure, Elle Decor Japan, Dezeen, and others. A spirit of experimentation continues to expand the studio’s scope, embracing artist collaborations, exhibitions, and immersive experiences.
